Ok...here's the story. I bought this off craigslist because I wanted the hard case, so I got the case and cleaned up the guitar, restrung it and made it look much more presentable. (our local GC never had a case to fit my S771). SN 566525 which looks to me to be 2002. This plays really well. Lots of little checks and scratches (I had to dump beach sand out of it). Tuner and equalizer all work and it sounds great plugged in. I wish I could exchange the eq/tuner with my 2000 model, but they're a different shape.
The pickguard is a stick on and applied because the previous owner must have been a strumming monster and the finish below the strings was literally dug out from picking. Looks quite nice to me with the pickguard... Not trying to hide anything...just couldn't stand looking at a nice top that way.
$250 without case picked up. This is a CT built guitar. I drive all over Mass and CT for my job, so if you're not in a hurry, I could arrange to have it with me for you to try out first.
I live in Hopkinton, MA

Pick Tracks? Or a pick-guard on an Ovation? |

And like about half the guitars I buy used, all the strings were on the wrong side of the tuning posts. I never understand that.
Sorry about the pickguard, but the gouging was measureable with a ruler for depth. It's a stick on....and comes off easy. :D |
