Need the cash for another project. This guitar is in pretty much mint condition. The frets had pretty much no wear at all. I've had it since 1988 I think. It has a minor ding on the bottom side near the jack that I would have to get a MACRO lens to show. It hangs in my humidity controlled room with my other guitars.

I am sure I have the black pickguard here also. That pearl PG cost me a fortune to have cut special with the trussrod cover.

The tuners were replaced with brand new NOS from Ovation. They are smooth. Neck is straight and has a beautiful wood pattern on the back.

I also have an excellent condition tan Viper case for it.

My expations are high for this in the condition it is in. I need to get $600, and I also have a framed original Ovation ad for the viper. I'm not sure and will have to look, but I may also have the owners manual.

Not that it matters, but I just received a 1974 Datsun puckup purchased NEW by my Grandfather in 1974. He passed away afew years later, and it was just passed to me in bad shape. He was my hero, and I want to restore it. This will take some money I don't have right now, and some things have to be fixed even to park it here at my house (leaking fuel tank). Believe me, I wouldn't sell it if thist had not come up.

US only Please, and $25 to ship/insure (if more, I will cover it.)

I will probably try CL in a few days, but I know people appreciate an instrument like this here.

Gary

I can't play electric at all, but that just might be the nicest looking old-style viper I've ever seen! Good luck with the sale.

Not that it matters, but you can see what I have to deal with on the truck restore here:

You must have been close to Granpa because I'd tow that truck to the wrecking yard and keep the guitar.

That said, I've owned several Datsun 620s (have two now as a matter of fact) and you absolutely can't kill the motors. I think if the Terminator scenario ever really happens, the HKs (hunter-killer machines) will run on Datsun L-series motors. The good news also is that all those rusty body parts are still available. Good luck.

Maybe hold off on selling the guitar for awhile, start taking take the truck apart and see how you feel about the whole restoration thing in a month or two. Depends what you mean by restoration but that looks like a money pit and $600 would not go far enough to worry about.

I don't plan to make it mint. Just driveable and safe. Pass inspection so it can sit at home.

Needs fuel tank, new brakes, possible new master for the brakes. New tires.

The money for the guitar will certainly get me close. The rest of the restore can be ongoing.

It does run, I drove it home! But lack of brakes almost made me crap my pants!

Once you start on the brakes you mind find that it needs lines, hoses, wheel cylinders etc.

There seems to be some forums where people are restoring those trucks and searching/trading parts etc.

Anyway, good luck with it. I started restoring a 1964 Austin 1100 once but ended up selling it to a guy who had 13 of them..lol
