Location: Rochester, NY | I recently sent my Ovation 1769 Al Di Meola model (bought new in 2004) to the mothership for repairs. Well.....they replaced the whole body (including top) and I specially requested that they send me back the old body.
It is completed gutted with no bridge or electronics or anything. The reason why it was replaced was because the top was caving in.
I wanted to keep it for sentimental value because Al Di himself had signed the original body on the Ovation label in the sound hole. To my surprise the label was torn off. So I have no evidence that Dimeola had signed it. I actually also had him play a chord on the guitar before he signed it and I have pictures to prove it!
Well if anyone is interested in this gutted body that has a top thats a bit concave I will sell it to them cheap. There are no cracks in the top.
If your interested email me here and I can send you detailed pics. My email addy is dongseo@gmail.com
As far as price, I was thinking shipping + 50 bucks? |

When I sent my 1115 to be fixed, they put the original sticker back inside the new bowl. |
