Hi everyone,

Here's the next one up. Anyone need a nice, vintage Legend in great shape? I haven't seen many Ovations this age with a finish this nice. I don't even see any pick scratching.

It sounds awesome. AAA spruce that's been opening up for thirty years has a tendency to do that. The serial number indicates a build year of 1980, but you can't tell by looking. The neck is fine, the action is nice, the tone is lovely, and the look is all Ovation sunburst. (Do they make a good burst or what?!) Even the case is in exceptional condition for its age; Hardly an scuffs on the old brown thing at all, latches and hinges in great shape, just a slight rise in the outer shell near the Ovation logo. The interior is in great shape.

It only has two flaws; a slight (very slight) crack in the rosette (couldn't get it to show in the pics) and an uneven feel near the edge of the top where the waist of the bouts pinch in. (I wonder if a humidifier might settle that a bit.) It doesn't look bad at all and certainly does not seem to affect the guitar in any way.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. It got here too late to take it outside, which would have been wasted effort on a cloudy, drizzly day anyway. I promise to take better ones at the first opportunity, but the weather might not cooperate before I leave for the holiday weekend. I have to say that the first picture probably gives the truest image of its color. The others are a bit dark even with a flash. So I guess these indoor, evening, poorly lit ones will have to suffice for now. I wanted to show it to you all before you blew your paychecks on Black Friday. ;)

$475 ships it to you door, case and all. Let me know what you think everyone.

I lucked out today and got a break in the clouds! Here are some better pictures that really show how nice this guitar looks! No one would be disappointed with it!

So who's interested?

Eerie!

A full day and not a single comment? That seems odd for a guitar this nice.

Hey Patch:
What a great guitar you've got there. Very nice. Does this guitar have a pre-amp?

That is a beautiful guitar, Patch. It’s well worth the money. I’d be interested, but am waiting on my sunburst to return from KMC.

Cheers,
Danny

She's a beauty, Patch. Someone should snag this from you. They will be very impressed with her performance. I can't believe she's not gone already!!

Sold!

Or rather, traded...

...to a Guitar Center in PA no less! They gave me $400 for it, and I didn't even have to ship it!

But wait 'til you see what I came home with...
