Seems to be a problem with mine(see Ghost in Machine-General Section.)

Anybody have one hanging around or know if mothership stocks them?

They definitely have them, as well as the stacked knob version. I replaced a dead one in my old Pacemaker with a 2-knobber I got from them.

I had them replace the preamp in my '77 to the newer stack knob unit..it works great and looks stock...having a tone control is a big advantage over the volume alone...

I'd go with a two knobber or punch a hole for the updated version

I' really like the sound I was getting from may pacemaker with the old electronics, although I do have to really push the bass, I just don't want to mess with the sound I'm used to, but thanks for the ideas.

I thought it was fixed several times but no luck. I have another pacemaker with op pro, and swapped the saddle pick ups but definately its the pre amp.
VERY mysterious though, I jiggle wires and tap the pre and get some cutting in and out but very intermittent. Wonder if its a capacitor or something electronic.Really dont think its solder.

Still open to ideas.

Just heard from John at mothership, apparently all they have is the stacked tone controls. My hearts really set on the original, so if anyone has one, or sees one, PLEASE let me know.

So this is the single knob, volume only with a detached battery box and a single metal case?

I need to 5S the workshop anyway, I'll see what I have.

Anyone have a picture or two?

last time I had a problem with the pre-amp (dead), Kim said "saddle"...replaced the saddle, no problem.

you may find that the MS has a replacement saddle and/or the saddle from the stacked knob will work.

Woody, Yes this is the single knob volume only with detached batt box and single metal case.

I swapped the saddle pick-up with one I know works and it still is a problem , so its not the pick-up, but thanks for the suggestion.

This is a rebuilt pacemaker with a A bracing top so I'm very emotionally invested in the sound, So Id really like the original pick up.
