First, Welcome. (Since I didn't say it the other day)

I have never played an OP-24+C, but I have always liked the OP-24+ (no 'C')...
So I would imagine that it would be a nice little preamp.

But depending on how often you play plugged-in and where, the Optima has a Notch Filter.
Plus it has a 4 Band EQ.
So if cost and availability are equal, I would get the Optima. (But I still like the OP-24+)

I have both, and I agree with OMA. If you play out a lot, the notch filter can come in handy. But the op-24 and the op-24+C serve me just fine and have done so for a long time.

Hi guys, and tnks for ur answer, I have this lovely classical 1863 special edition black gloss finish, it comes with the Op-X but it does not work any more, I am traying to upgrade to Optima one since it has a build in tuner, but I cant find it anywher, all dealers has just the new models, u know, vip-5, Op pro, Idea.

The best part of the story is this, I will get marry on February and want to play my future wife a song I am writting for that day, and I hope to do that with my 1863 and no other, but I just cant find the preamp. I have also a classical Takamine Tc132sc and classical Viper EA63 but they are not the same.

This is a great forum by the way, Tnks for the help n best regards!

Contact the MotherShip (New Hartford Factory) and ask if they got one.

Contact Al (alpep, Lost Art Vintage) and see what he could do.

Or the BFLG could help.

You can contact Alpep through this board by finding one of his posts and clicking the PM button on the top of the post.
(The little thingy with two guys shaking hands near an envelope)

Or go to Lost Art Vintage website.

You can contact Ovation through the Ovation website Contact Page...

But someone here might have a more current email address.
I am not sure this page still works now that Fender bought them. But it is worth a shot.

BFLG Help Needed!

Somebody here has a Template for cutting the hole for the 1/4" & XLR combo.

I do not know if the Optima has a straight 1/8" plug for just a 1/4" jack... But it might!

Somebody here should know!

Look at the picture, http://www.thomann.de/gb/ovation_optima_preamp.htm

The multicolor otput wire, it plugs directly into the preamp, mine has a similar multicolor wire, but just of 3 wires, green, yellow and orange, and it plugs directly into my damaged OP-X Preamp, I would like just to place the new preamp and conect my 3 color wire, but I gues it may not fit becouse the Optima has 5 wire pines to plug, and OP-X wire is just 3.

And I would dont like to cut the XLR hole by myself, jiji.

Regards!
