I could repair this but, I just love how understated this description is...

evilBay listing here ...
"The guitar is in overall terrific shape. Unfortunately, there is a hairline crack on the back on the neck, which doesnt affect the look or sound of this beautiful black guitar."

That crack looks more like a cut then crack. Awfully straight against the grain.

He also calls it a "mid-depth super shallow".

It looks to me like that crack is more than just a crack. Look at how it is lifting. Notice he didn't post any photos of the fretboard where it joins the body. That's because with the neck lifting like that, the fretboard (and top) are probably sinking.

My heel crack was really straight across the grain also...

When I removed the neck the line just continued all the way across and the piece just came off.
There is a BIG chunk of metal under there, so there ain't much wood to it... Most of the stress is Normally on the metal framework.
But it is also Two Pieces of wood and that crack seem to go through both of them.

I said all that to say that it CAN be repaired.
But the strings look awfully high, so this might have been allow to progress way too far.
Looking at where it connects to the bowl, the wood might be separating from the metal Block in the heel.
Which might be getting into territory beyond my meager skills.
The guitar is worth $200, maybe $250 cuz it comes with a case.
If you sent that to the factory, it would be kinda expensive.

Ouch.

If that's a hairline crack then the Grand Canyon must be just a small gulley.

TJ, OMA:

I just called Ovation and they confirmed: the "T" in 1778T stands for "Tuñón"
