I could never see any reason for a doubleneck. If you want to play a 12-string, play one. If you want to play a six string, play one. If you're gigging and need a 12-er on some songs, bring it, along with a guitar stand. If you need to play both in the same song, invite a friend. If you're buying it because it's collectable, keep in mind that Gretsch is more famous for their electrics which means this guitar isn't really all that collectable.

Based on the Gretsch Rancher 6 string acoustic from the 50's, (which did not have a memorable sound) this was a concept piece done primarily for the looker and not the player...Gretsch makes an electric semi-hollow double neck that is much nicer and IMHO more functional...I can't justify a 2K price for this guitar...

Well thought out position Mike and i agree this buy would be to hang on a wall,,,, which is just not my style... i play all my equipment.
