3 plank -ShinyBowl. A piece of Ovation history.

$500.00 shipped in lower 48.

This guitar has more mojo than any other Ovation I've owned. I'm not exaggerating.

The tone and volume are astonishing. It just stonks. It is truly a player.

I'm listing it for sale is because of the 1-11/16" nut width and realize I play my Josh White for the wider neck.

I was told by Ovation to leave this guitar as is because of it's age and original condition.

The guitar is in good condition, however, it is not mint.

"Issues":
-I repaired a finish crack from bridge to heal. The repair is excellent. You will not be able to find it.
-I also repaired some cracked and loose purfling along the treble-side waist. You can see this repair, however it is very subtle and unless you are looking right at it, you'd probably not notice it.
-Some very minor nicks on the neck, sound board and bowl but, only very minor.
-1/4" jack connector installed (no electronics or wiring, however)
-Pickguard shadow (somewhere in it's life it had a pickguard that has since been removed and left a "Shadow" in the top's patina.

All that said, this guitar is in great condition.... and aside from the pickguard shadow, looks that way. But, this one is a player and sounds absolutely fantastic.

Other OFC members can attest to the guitar's sound and condition.

Photo exaggerates all marks on the top.

Jeff, I've thought that guitar was very cool since you got it. Were you ever able to date this one?

It's very early.
Given the serial numbers I've been able to find on other similar guitars AND that this is a 3 planker, strongly suggests it is a 1967. The factory thinks it is probably a '67.

I can't positively rule-out '68... though.

I'm surprised you're selling - it looks so good against the pine walls.

Looks (and sounds) better against denim overalls and a flannel shirt...

Hopefully it will be me!

But I also thought I had gotten the '68 shiny bowl classic last weekend, so I'm not counting any chickens till they're in my hands.

It's a killer price for that guitar. The only way you could loose it is to try to offer him an unreasonably low price.
And Jeff is a DOVHI*. Just go for it.

I GOT IT!!!

Thanks Jeff, can't wait for it to arrive.

Psycho - No problem there. If I'm purchasing multiple guitars from one seller, I'll try to get the seller to cover the shipping. That's about as unreasonable as my offers come.

Congrats, Fletcher. She's sure a pretty one. Post your own photos, too, won't you?
