It doesn't have the bass of a larger guitar, but balance is outstanding and sustain is INFINITE. I have mine set up with Nashville strings and the sound is magical. The only small thing wrong in the design was the gold Schallers came with black plastic buttons that self-destruct over time. I replaced them with Ebony buttons and all's well. The entire headstock is a work of art on these. John <>{

Since the auction is still going on and Fletch is worried I've already jinxed his prospects, I won't post what I would expect someone to sell/pay for one. The wide necks fetch even more $$. Does it sound like a little guitar? Not to me. It doesn't sound like my Adamas 1681-5, either. It certainly doesn't sound (or look)"cheap". Mine has a lovely and even tone, good resonance and sustain and is extremely comfortable to play, not to mention that it's just a beautiful instrument. I don't think I'd ever sell it. Fletcher, I'm sorry if I upset you by my post. My intentions were strictly well-meant; keep the faith! You might still snag her. Numbfingers, you act like I'm the first and/or only one on here who has ever pointed out something that was perceived as a good deal on Ebay or any other site! I thought this was a "club" of some kind ... geesh. I should send out PMs to someone I know might want it? I don't have psychic abilities, so I wouldn't really know particularly, who might be interested in what, now, would I? :( The entire headstock is a work of art on these. Bauerhillboy, I have ebony buttons on mine too, and I agree with the above statement about the headstock ... actually, I think the whole guitar is a piece of art, and I'd love to have a wide neck version, too. :) Willa

There's always the standard advice: "do a search" Geez, Steve, I was just floating through and thought I'd drop a buzz ... I didn't feel like doing a search! Grrr. I could think of a few who were selling ones I wanted! As a member of the Cranky Old Bottom Feeders, I'd like to see the bargain hunters search efforts rewarded. I think that the "PSA" announcements here work against that. But what the heck, this is only about buying more guitars to add to the hoard, it's not that important. Well, for me, it's not just about hoarding. And, it's important to some degree or we wouldn't be writing these posts. I have a passion for certain musical instruments. I can't explain it. They make me calm and happy to listen to, own and play them. I like the cranky old bottom feeders! I'm definitely cranky, and I am most definitely a HOARDER of guitars but I am certainly not the worst hoarder in these parts! For example ... I hear Beal needs a hoarder's anonymous program fer sure and um ... let's see ... Alexander ... Jerome ... Dave ... Serge ... Geneo (or did you get rid of all of yours?) ... Dweezil ... MWoody ... Povation ... AJ ... TJ ... MusicMishka ... Iffy ... Alison ... StephenT ... Paul ... you have a few stashed too, don't you, you devil, you. Patch ... YOU, Steve! I'll be here all day ... you all know who you are! And it's STILL a good price with a little more than an hour to go! Go Fletch! Rah Rah Rah! :rolleyes: ;) Willa

Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12755 Location: Boise, Idaho | Thanks for not listing me. I got burned out on the ebay thing after a few buys where I was apparently the only one who didn't know whether it was a good deal. I have had a couple good buys, though, the latest of which was the K1111RI. I think I saw that here first and several of us made the same offer. I don't know if I'd have found it, but for this board. Which brings it back around the circle. I've used this board as a resource to figure out what's a good deal. I don't know that I could have figured that out by myself and I'd probably just have the Matrix, an Applause 12 and a Celebrity instead of too many to list below.

I'm still waiting for the day Willa realizes she can't play 200 guitars at once and starts selling some of the herd. She's got some beauties. Come on Willa, we're waiting...tick, tick...

I think she went for a fair price ... just about what they've been going for and probably more for the wide necks. Iffy, what do you think? Dweeze? About right, no? Jim, I've um, sort of been really good! I have one in Texas patiently waiting for me (wait till you see THAT one!) and a few other prospects/possibilities. Patch, I am still so very grateful for the beauties I have received from you, my friend ... Nevertheless, you ain't foolin' me, Mister! You KNOW you DO like to gather them around you while you're hunting the next one, taking all those gorgeous photos, lingering around the factory (where some of my favorite P.McG' pics have been taken). Kim Keller tells me my collection is dwarfed compared to the collections in the circles HE runs in! Ahem! One can never have too many! Ahhhh ... ;) Willa
