I've joined the elite, because I'm now one of the (growing) group of people who are custodians of one (or more) of AJ's guitars. I picked this one up last night. It looks like it's never been played - no sign of any fretboard wear. Low, smooth silky action, finish in beautiful condition. Now for the not-so-good bit AJ. There is a noticeable depression in the soundboard, just below the soundhole. I've tried to capture it here with a reflection of the overhead light. Also, a possible crack in-between the soundhole and the bridge. This might be a finish crack, but given the depression, I'm a bit suspicious of that. I only had a quick chance to play it last night - beautiful, and will sound even better with new strings. I'm going to Canberra for the weekend, so I will try to give a better review next week - maybe find a dental mirror and have a look inside. Sorry for the crappy photos, had to use my phone. | ||
