Just dropped this message as a complete non sequitur on another person's thread...sorry Dude!
I am a complete newbie on this site, on BBs in general, nettiquette (sic?) etc.
I am Liquidating an inventory of well loved Ovations next few weeks, they just don't get the playing they deserve. Spouse after me to free up space etc.My fingers just don't have the dexterity they once did, all too common story. All babied - humidified - in Ovation OHSCs. Currently listing a mint black 12 string Custom Legend from 1995, on eBay, starting bid 499.99. Guitar Center offered me 300 for this. Here is the link, I am trying to drum up some more interest. I am happy to answer questions about provenance of the guitars - such as I know it!

I also have a vintage red Deluxe Balladeer 1112 with an aftermarket pickup from late 70s, an acoustic only natural wood finish Folklore (1614 I think...gotta double check) from early 80s, a natural wood Longneck with upgraded Optima Preamp, tuner,(?DS768 I think ) from mid 90s, and an AA13 small steel string 3/4 or junior size acoustic yr unknown Applause my son and daughter never touched willingly.
I would be happiest to sell these to someone who can appreciate them and give them a little more playing time than I at this stage. I wish my kids were interested, but it has never caught fire for them. Will get together photos in good time.

Just so you know, there is a requirement around here that you post prices for your wares. (And some very nice wares you're throwing around indeed! ;) )
I'll be sending an email. Good luck with everything. |

Would like to get 300 for the 1114 w its case.
The longneck DS678 I noticed has numerous dot-like presumed tarnish spots on the (I thought they were gold) tuners. I wonder of these are brass or something else. The headstock of this guitar has had a few minor dings, has a couple of scars. There are a number of superficial scratches on the soundboard, around a dozen, mostly of a few mm. There is some peripheral erosion from picking/exuberant strumming on the leaf-like decorative wood pieces around the lower bout adamas style sound holes. I would say still a very good player with a uniquely deep sound. Little fret wear. Comes with a newer 6 y o all black plastic Ovation hard shell case. I think it reasonable to ask 600 for this one, I will get some better digital photos of this guy to illustrate, and I may list it on eBay. |
