I can sympathize with them. Obviously we are all out to rip you off. What amazes me is that I can order a 5mW green laser pointer from Hong Kong via ebay for less than $8 shipping included. Ordered two at that price! Oh, BTW, an equivalent USA 'marketed' one runs over $30 shipped (yepper, still made over yonder)...

I've ordered a few ATA cases over the years and I'd estimate this one would be close to $400 to have made. Then you'd need a great big Roadie to shlep it around for you because it would weigh a ton.

Things like car parts are often 50-70% cheaper in the US so the cost of shipping becomes negligible. Guitars seem to be about the same price all things considered so there's not much benefit to shipping them in. A new HD28 goes for around 25 in The Republic of Toronto whereas a place like Maury's (which doesn't ship outside the US) sells it for maybe 21/22. So, then you'd have to have it dropped off in Buffalo, go get it, pay taxes and duties etc. all of which offsets any price reduction plus you didn't get to play a few of them to pick out a good one.

Obviously we are all out to rip you off. [/QB] [/qb] Without wanting to get OT here... I just wanted to say (for the record), I am NOT anti-American. Far from it actually. What I meant was, that here in Canada, we are charged 13% provincial and federal sales tax on ANYTHING coming from the US. When you add the brokerage fees (which the carrier charges for simply adding a piece of paper to the transaction...) & duty on top of this... it adds up pretty quick. I DO understand why US sellers don't want to ship outside CONUS... but many international buyers will tell you, on occasion (not ALL the time... right Moody, lol), the 'I can't be bothered' attitude is a little too obvious. Try looking at it from the other side is all I was saying. Because Canada has such a small population, if we want to sell something, we usually don't have this luxury... When I am selling something on eBay, I look at North America as the same thing, and try to give American buyers the same courtesy I would to Canadian. To be honest, I usually try to be more courteous to American buyers, because they are more sensitive (big hug, lol) :D
