Not a huge crowd, but being that FairleighDickinson and Drew Universites are right up the street, it's generally a "CollegeCrowd", and they won't be back for two more weeks, so our Oct. date there'll be better, crowd-wise (actually, I rather enjoyed NOT having to compete with the din of beer-goggled, HormoneHockey in the crowd). FINALLY got t'use the FreeHand tablet in a working, gig environment. It worked like a Champ!! Bright, legible, and (if I had STUCK to the pre-conceived "Plan" of STICKING to the SetList, and NOT "jumping about"!) incredibly fast/easy to "navigate". HighPoints of the Night: Billy Joel's "Miami2017" TalkingHead's "Life During WarTime" Stephen Still's "For What It's Worth" Door's "RoadHouse Blues" & "L.A. Woman" Al Stewart's "Don't Forget Me" & "Waiting For Margaux" Allman's "OneWayOut" WorldParty's "Is It Like Today" Nirvana's "All Aplogies" Lennon's "Watching The Wheels" PinkFloyd's "Breathe" & "Time" Beatles' "Things We Said Today" SteelyDan's "Pretzel Logic" SRV "Pride&Joy" Clapton's "Bell Bottom Blues" GreatFun was had by All.

It's obvious that you don't and won't allow yourself to be lulled into an Eagles, Cat Stevens, Freebird type of clichéd set list. Brian & I try to keep our song list less familar, although a few "standards" have slipped in. Next time I get to hear ya play I'd like to request... Bell Bottom Blues & Watchin' the Wheels (because I'd like to play'em myself), and LA Woman (just to see how you pull it off). Old people, baby boomer.... it's getting to mean the same thing.

There wasn't much of them left by the time we started, so the "mellow" stuff was just the first couple songs . . the rest of the night was uptempo stuff . .

I guess as a performing musician you HAVE to play some of the Eagles/Beatles/Cat Stevens/Van Morrison standards (or at least have them in the bag if you need them) but, as a guy who plays on the back deck most of the time, I can pretty much make the set list any way I want it to be and I gravitate to the B sides, the not exactly Top Ten but maybe Top 50 instead stuff. Margaritaville is fun but boring after a while...Nice set list Cliff. It's obvious that you don't and won't allow yourself to be lulled into an Eagles, Cat Stevens, Freebird type of clichéd set list. And, as much as I love that song, I would also have to agree that WMGGW's is definitely one of the most overplayed Beatles tunes ever. Guess that's just a testament to how great a song it is (...so let's ALL beat it into the ground, right?).
