I have no earthly idea how i missed this But Drummer Mike Botts passed away on December 9th of Colon Cancer. he was the Drummer with Bread, Drummed with Linda Rondtadt, and also over the last several years he was part of Dan Fogelbergs band. The first Concert I ever went to was a bread concert and Mike Botts was surrounded by a double drum set and cymbals galore.
He sang Long Tall Sally from the Drums and blew everone away. His website is www.mikebotts.com
RIP Mike.

A sad Christmas for his friends and family. I missed it too.

I vaguely recognized the name in your title. Bread was one of my early influences and I started playing guitar because somebody was butchering the intro to Diary.

I have to say that I was a Bread fan as well. Gates and Co wrote and played some great tunes back in the day. Very talented musicians. I'm sure Mike will be missed by many.

On Mikes website I noticed he also had a solo Cd that sounded great. they offer a free mp 3 download of one of the songs. listening to it reminded me of Mike singing the song "Fancy Dancer" on The guitar man LP and also reminded me of the Long Tall Sally Performance. He really was talented.
