On the ovationtribute.com website of our French friend Jerome (watch the webpage of my Purple Flame out there..!!) I read about the VIP-5 preamp...Is this the new 2006 preamp?? And is it possible to use it instead of my OpPro??

Others know more on this subject than I do. What I know is that, yes, this is the new 2006 pre-amp. It is only available on a limited number of models. I inquired, and you can not (yet) get one in a guitar from the custom shop. That suggests to me that you could not buy a swap-out module for your OpPro.

Availability issues aside, I don't know if you can just swap out the OpPro for the VIP. Visually, it looks like it should fit, but I have no idea if the connectors are compatible.

Y'have to keep in mind that the digital modelling in each VIP unit is designed/calibrated for the SPECIFIC model(s) that it's installed in. It's not like these things are sitting on a shelf and you can just "pop 'em into" any guitar that just happens to have an OpPro in it . . .

Can't answer your question, but ed you gotta do something about the colour scheme on your website. Liberace and Elton John would feel right at home.
