Dave said the bridge pulled off and the ensuing slingshoot effect did the soundboard damage. Oversized bridge put on to hide minimal chipping when bridge released. I looked at it and had a deep soul to soul with myself before passing last summer. :rolleyes: SWMBO said why buy one like that, why not wait until a clean example comes along? I took that as permission to buy when I find a nice one. Still waiting! Is Tim-the-Rebel one of us?

That would be I :D I'm suffering GAS, been playing the Ute all weekend...got slothead fever really bad...I sure don't want to drag the Ute around in the salty environment. We stop at a lot of uninhabited islands in the south Pacific, do a little cookout, burned some burgers, kill our voices...figured the FD-14 would make a good boat guitar... :o

My Alvarez has been underway since 1997 and never had the first ounce of trouble with the wood body warping or finish cracking. The machine heads are the problem, as well as the pre-amp connections and 1/4 plug. Jeff...paddle, haha, I get it ;)

I would venture a guess that there are many Ovations owned on this list that are in a lot worse shape, I could go the way of many other sellers and forget to mention a ding or two but I don't deal that way. This guitar wasn't abused ,the bridge came off!!! Anyone ever have that happen before.

If I wasn't sure that Maryanne would kill me in my sleep, I would make sure I won this auction. Beautiful guitar deserving of a good home in the OFC. John <>{

He is afterall only a pup. ;) To all, Dave and I traded several emails while I was making up my mind. The pics he sent me show a very beautiful guitar with VERY minor damage. The new bridge is only slightly oversized from what I could see. Whoever ends up with this one won't be sorry.

Replaced bridge,broken off peghead, no finish left on the top it looks like it was towed behind a car cross country and I bought it looking like that. It has real character and I can't tell you how many people have asked if I'd sell it. I've had it 15 years so far and haven't got tired of it yet.

I have finish cracks and bumps from life but I love them dearly. I am trying to apologize, if I offended you in any way, I am sorry.

The boys did a great job boxing it up and I thank you for the extra's :) Your right, the few knicks are not that bad or that noticable beneath the strings. The sound is really nice and warm. I am really grooving on these wide neck roundbacks. Thank you my friend, Aloha_Tim
