The shipping amount was $108.04 UPS for a 40 pound box. I paid $35.00 for UPS shipping of my Adamas and OHSC from Virginia. I guess that's" What Brown can do TO you".

The real killer is the size of the box or package! This allows UPS to "oversize" charge. I prefer to use the KAMAN boxes from a local Guitar Center to keep it small.

I thought with the weight of the package, $50 would cover it. It was more like $60 because of the shape of the box.

I have found that you can screw them a little and if your package is 50+20+10 (=80) you can fudge it a little and call it 49+19+10 (=78) and usually get away with it and save yourself about $15. Here's a good one for you. I was at FedEx last week shipping Pokey her CL and was talking to a guy from America West airlines. AW employees get a 75% discount at FedEx. He shipped a freaking 10HP gas driven electric generator overnight for about $12. Dave

I recently shipped guitars to the factory in CT from the metro NYC area and the charge w/insurance was only $18. The guitars got to the factory the next day! Some sellers on eBay purposely inflate the shipping charges to avoid paying eBay a higher final valuation fee because shipping charges are not included in the final valuation.

Yup! And it presses my buttons! I hate to reward those with a $.99 item and $24.95 shipping and handling fee.
