Being a Hamer lover (have a USA Custom Duotone and T-51), decided I wanted a decent accustic to play with and picked up a Ovation CE-868 in near mint condition but am having a bit of a problem with the built in tuner. The guitar has a Optima preamp in it. If I hit the tuner button and try and tune any string, it works no more than a second or two, then the LED's start to "strobe" or sequence light the leds from left to right and it doesn't seem to stop until the tuner turns off after 60 seconds. If I hit the tuner button again, same thing, works for a second or two, then starts to strobe again. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Mark

Check for a low battery, but I doubt that's it. It might be that the tuner isn't connected to the pickup and it's searching for the sound. Check all the connections inside.
