They buy them for the workmanship with no intention of using them.
The first dent (and you Know that is gonna happen) and there goes your 'value'.
It is kinda pretty... But I've seen better for less.
But it is still just an expensive "Wall Hanging" hence the cabinet.

Purfling: n. Ornamentation on the border of a thing; specifically, the inlaid border of a musical instrument, as a violin.
The binding covers the outside joint, any additional decoration in the binding (such as wood or abalone inlay) is purfling.
The strip of wood inside to which the top/bottom is glued to the sides is called kerfing, from the woodworking term kerf, which is a narrow cut, usually across the grain, that is almost the full depth of the wood. |
