Location: Albuquerque | Hi there everyone. I am a long time ovation owner, but new to this forum. I have an ovation solid body that was given to me back in 1986 or 1987, it is a Celebrity model made in korea. I cannot or have not been able to find any info, on this particular guitar. It has a strat style body, and has the same headstock as the old Thunderbolt,(tapered out to a point) it came with 2 XK110 single coils and a humbucker, which I have since replaced, and 24 fret neck. I have owned it for about 20 years, I consider it a better guitar than my other guitars, (Gibson,BC Rich), Over the years I have only seen two other guys who had the same type of guitar, and that was about 16 years ago. But any way if anyone knows where I can get some specs on this guitar I would appreciate it. |

Location: Tennessee | I don't know where you can get any specs, but I bought what may be the same guitar for my son a while back. There a couple of pictures of it in my gallery. I agree - it's a great guitar for the little $$ I paid for it. Fun to play and a pretty good little shredder. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Try doing some searches. Seems like there was a thread or 2 on these awhile ago. As I recall someone compared them to a Jackson.
The Ultra GSs are still readily available. Two sold on ebay this weekend and GNNick may have sold his. The Ultra GPs went out of sight because of some guy named Josh who used to be with Queens of the Stone Age. Although I have often been accused of being from the Stone Age, I have never heard of these people. |

Location: Albuquerque | I have searched high and low for info. on these guitars. Ovations' website doesn't even list them in there discontinued list (why). It is a shame that they don't make these guitars any more, IMHO, I think they are nice guitars. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | The Ovation website doesn't even list all of their USA models and very little about the Celebrity and nothing about Applause. I assume it's a matter of spending dollars to sell guitars and recognizing that Ovation never gained a great reputation for electrics. |
