(I still gotta get around to doing the cool HTML links like the rest of ya...) Anyway... Is this being sold by anyone we know on here? Whattaya all think this guitar is worth? I graduated in '76 - NINETEEN 76 that is - and this would be cool to own - but the price seems a little steep - or am I wrong? No electronics...

Hard to say what the right price is. I've seen them go for a lot less than $900. but at the same time, that's still a darn good price for a very collectable guitar. You could wait and maybe find one cheaper... or this could be the last one you'll ever see for sale. Tough call. Dave

Don't think it's worth much more than the opening bid, IMHO. That IS ballpark for it, though, it's not overpriced if it is in clean shape. Roger

That, in addition, to the loving TLC the factory did to bring it back to its original glory. Ovation's first Limited Edition model. Basically a Custom Legend - A brace, AAA spruce, deep bowl. Gorgeous, warm and rich sound. Ovation's Timeline describes it as "fancy version of Custom Legend with drum-and-flag decal and "1776*1976" on lower treble bout." I have seen them go for $650 to $1,200. "To get a real perspective on the Ovation Collectors' Series, we've got to go back to 1976 when our 10th year coincided with the Bicentennial of our country. To celebrate both, we built 1,776 specially-designed "Patriot" models. Around 1980, we noticed that Patriot guitars were becoming popular with guitar collectors. The idea of collecting guitars was always around, but it was really starting to take off among a wide group of players." Some say that this guitar is what encouraged the company to start the Collectors series.

If it's the same guy, he definitely up'ed his price! Now I'm kinda regretting not picking it up for myself....
