Who has Ovation amps? = I do

What models? = This will take awhile

What do you use them for? = routinely Guitar, Bass and Keyboards, but also PA and Monitors.

All seriousness, I have a Dude that really sounds great on semi-hollow guitar, and a Bass Dude that is in my lineup for recording options next to an Eden Nemesis and an Ammpeg B15N. As Al said, in addition to those... I have a small pile of them. Very VERY under-rated amps.

I am actually curious where they all are (not mine but the rest of the gaggles they made). I have verified that they really did make a S&%t load of them. They only turn up rarely.

I was just curious where all the amps were? I've got a Bass Dude and a Guitar Dude. In the loate 70's my band had a small Ovation PA. I think it was called the OPAS-6 or something like that. You really don't see too many of these around anymore. The Bass Dude especially is a great amp and my daughter has "inherited" it and uses it daily with her band. Dave

Yes this has come up a few times. When I think of some of the items I have seen on eBay that had a run of 25 or less, that weren't very popular or all that good even.... And then I hardly ever see Ovation amps... I really start to wonder where they went. The appearently made a ton of them, although I don't know exact numbers yet, and they were really decent amps. Someone is sitting on them someplace.

ok, I have a question about ovation amps here...

I've got a Bass Dude, Model K-6441 - combo head/cab - I got it from a friend several years ago, but I know this model was probably made well before I was born ( which was in 1978... )

my question is - I love the sound this amp has, very clean, very classic, and it works well with running sound pedals through it....

I've been trying to look around the 'net to find some specs for this model, specifically, what's the ohms/resistance on this model, and what kind of external cab can this be plugged into? I'd like to see if this will work for gigging out, but it's too small to use by itself - I've got a carvin 4x12 cab (2 ohm), and the head is currently shot ( it's in the shop, but might be a few weeks before it gets fixed ) - does anyone know what it is, or where I can find a spec sheet for it?

any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Can't help you Moody. They made a bunch for several years.
Amps in general don't get the respect that guitars do and cabinets get canabilized, speakers get blown and replaced with something else. The Ovation amps are out there but they've just fallen into the weeds. If it doesn't say Fender or Marshall most think it's just a box and who cares about just a box? A beat up one at that.
