This may seem a lil' stupid, but I have a Breadwinner and a Magnum Bass (thanks again miles... i'm still loving this thing,) and have yet to find an adequate guitar stand solution. I have been trying to find a stand that holds multiple guitars, as I will usually have 3 of them with me at a gig, but as I seem to have a penchant for irregularly shaped guitars this has been a PITA. The main problem is that in addition to the Ovations I play a Parker Nitefly which has a very minimalistic headstock. Between the Parker's headstock and the Ovations' bottom cutouts I can't keep these babies vertical. any suggestions? BTW, does anyone here see parallels between the Ovation solidbodies and the Parker guitars? Innovative materials, bridge/body designs and electronics configurations. I searched for YEARS to find a guitar that played as well as my breadwinner (because after all this time is has gottten rather beat up,) and I find the Parker has the only comparable neck/balance that I've found.

I really like the stands that hang the deacon/BW by the neck but it sounds like the Parker won't hang with them. On Stage having a specific stand for each would be a good thing. |

Location: San Angelo, Texas | I use two Hercules stands. One that holds two guitars (1777LX and 1866) and one to hold the Ibanez AS-73. I also have one that holds three guitars, works great with anything we hang on it :) |

Location: Boise, Idaho | Pay attention, guys. I love the Hercules stands, but they nead a headstock to hang. Plexicube says his Parker doesn't really have one. Sounds like it might not hang from the Hercules and they have nothing to support the bottom. So...crash. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Hercules GS402 and GS405 stands will work with the Parker. They support the guitar from the bottom. The Hercules GS414 will work with the Bwinner and Magnum. Dave

| YEah you'll need a stand like these that Dave and the others have mentioned. Or you will have to modify a standard stand a little. I use String Swing hangers on my wealls so I can grab whatever guitar I want when practicing. And on Stage the Hercules Tri Stands are real nice. I suppose one of the guitar case style stands that hold 5 or 7 guitars woiuld work just fine as long as you always make sure you put it in the right way. These Deacons are heavy, buy a good stand with a wide foot.

Location: Santa Cruz, CA | Wow guys, thanks for all of the responses! I'm definitely going to have to check out those Hercules stands to see if they work. Slipkid: I have an el-cheapo stand that holds the Breadwinner sort of ok, but it's just a bit too precariously balanced for my liking. It requires more effort than I want to expend to seat the guitar properly (I tend to switch instruments quite a bit during shows.) Also, guitar stands are the FIRST thing to belost/destroyed on tour, so I prefer a more robust all-in-one type situation. Mark: The Parker has more of a headstock than say a Steinberger, but it's really a minimalistic affair. It lacks the sideways flanges that are found on fender style (eek) headstocks or the lovely 3 on a side ovation design. Northcountry: The walls of my current rental are (unfortunately) masonry covered with a thin drywall with a gap in between. Wall mounted guitar hangers just dont anchor in well, especially with the heavy old Magnum. There will be no woodscrews added where they do not belong! |

Location: GA USA | I use a Herc with my Deacon, and the thing I love is that the newer model has a small T shaped peg that holds the guitar out from the base of the stand. This peg is padded, and can be set to hit the guitar right on the metal backplate, and touching the back nowhere else.
With the other Herc I have, the body rests against the (padded) legs of the stand.. Nice, but I like t'other better. |
