While channel surfing the other night I came across The Doobie Bros. playing "Black Water".
Patrick Simmons was playing what appeared to be a Legend.
Funny thing is, the show was a re-run of "What's Happenin'" from probably the '80's???

Taking this into consideration, I don't understand the 'funny' part.

The "FUNNY" part is that someone would actually WATCH an episode of "what's Happening!"...

Pat Simmons played them all the time. Told me he saw Croce once and the sound on stage sold him. He played them for many years and eventually went away like everyone else.

We all see Ovations now and then. Saturday night I heard a great older natural top deep body Elite in LeAnn Rimes' band, used by one of her guitar players for her cover of "Go Your Own Way" (Fleetwood Mac). The guitar voice was beyond perfect for that tune, too. LeAnn kinda does a little rock show. Last tune was "Somebody to Love" (Jefferson Airplane).
