I know the pickup and pre-amp are the same, so is it possible to just add a jack and a few wires, or is it more involved than that. I sure would like to be able to plug this straight into the console without a direct box.

First OFC secret: Go to the bottom of the page and click the "Ovation Fan club" link between "Contact Us" and Privacy Statement". This is the preferred view. Bookmark it. Next: Update your Profile - link at the top of the page. Write down your password. I like to email my passwords to myself and put them in a folder. Enjoy!

For the rest of us, not all that long. :( Thingy is a technical term used by a lot of us. BTW, Welcome to The OFC. :D
