Location: Warren,Pa. | I gave my Pacemaker to the best tech guy around here to work on multiple issues. Unfortunately, soon after I gave it to him he bought the music store from the retiring owners. Of course, newly owning a business, his life immediatly went out of control. His turnaround time on repairs used to be 20 days. He's had my guitar for nearly 3 months now.
Today I went in to beg him to finish, and he told me to turn and look...he had 2 new Ovations on the wall. Said he's selling them now and knew I'd be happy about that. He has a pre-LX Balladeer 6 in Burgundy, and this Legend LX 12 in Amber Burst. Bill said "Why don't you take it until I finish your guitar."
So...that's not a bad deal. I like my Pacemaker better, but this is nice. The sound is similar to my '02 CL 12. The neck feels different than the K-bar neck...I don't know which one I like better on a 12string. I DON'T like this Amberburst finish at all...like I say to myself "What person was responsible for this idea??" I had the Optima in my CL, and I'm looking forward to plugging in Saturday night at church to see how the OpPro is in a 12.
I did say to Bill as I left the store, "600 people will get to see and hear this guitar this weekend. Maybe it'll sell next week." He told me I may borrow ANY guitar in the store any time I want. John <>{ |

He included in that offer any guitars he has at home...and he owns about 150 of the most collectable guitars you've ever seen.
Today I went in there really annoyed. Bill came up to me and leaned on my shoulder and said "I'm glad you're here...I really need to see someone who'll be nice to me." Well, I had to be nice then! I can wait for my guitar. John <>{ |
