Hey folks,
Does the lack of a neck skunk stripe on an early US ('77) Balladeer with a black neck, or on a Celeb, (wood looking neck) mean the neck is one of those funky Urelite thingies?

Is the presence of the skunk stripe the clear indicator of a "quality" neck?

Mitzdawg, the urethane foam neck was only on the late 70s Applause and Matrix/Medallion, I believe.

If the Balladeer's neck is black, it might have the skunk stripe underneath the finish. Don't believe Celebrities have ever had the stripe on their neck. But those necks are definitely wood.

Some of the early Balladeer specials had a foam or aluminum neck too.
