Elginacres brought #43 and he needs to tell his acquisition story for all to hear. Here's a guitar that he bought in 1985 and played three shows a day for, what, eight years? It was his traveling tour instrument. Nothing more, nothing less. At the slothead reunion, we're told the consensus was that it is by far the most played of the originals. That said, besides a little fretboard finish wear, the thing still looks showroom fresh and sounds incredible with its second generation electronics. It is rather unbelieveable how well the Adamas is constructed and holds together over the years. He also needs to tell the story of Neil Diamond's stage rig and what he uses for his Ovation versus his other guitiars. Great stuff.

I think the same guy who posted Bob Marley's O is going to put it up on the 'bay next week. ;) I hear he's looking to get 2.7 mil for it... but it's worth it cause of a break in the neck caused by Neil's lady friend (allegedy the same as Bob's lady friend but I don't want to spread any rumors)

As a preview, he was called to provide some sound engineering tech support for Neil Diamond when his tour came through Denver. Diamond uses two racks of phenomenal equipment on stage for all of his guitars except his Ovation, which he plugs into a relatively simple stage amp, then on to the house sound board. Apparently, it speaks to his respect for the Ovation tone.

Even Hadley took pause when he realized the simplicity of that vintage great guitar sound - without the toys to sweeten it up. Great example of doing whatever it takes to make it work and sound good - and Ovation did it the simplest.
