Location: South of most, North of few | Just found your website and it seems there are a lot of people here that know alot about Ovations, hense my question. I have tried to contact Ovation about my guitar, but I can't seem to get an answer. I just purchased an Ovation, used, that is marked inside on the label as a CP 2001, but it is in a Black-cherry burst not a cherry-cherry burst as I've seen all the others, and as Ovation says all of them were. It has the abolone binding around the body and neck, is a shallow body with the OP 24+ preamp, and has pearl buttons with gold tuners with a "limited edition" pearl inlay on the octave fret. If anyone knows anything about this guitar, please let me know, or I can email some pictures for someone to post, if anyone would be interested. I love the guitar and it is as new, but it's got me a little confused as to just what model it is if it really isn't a CP2001. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Location: South of most, North of few | Thanks for the welcome, I am really a drummer, but I like to play guitar, as I have for the past 30 some odd years. I have an Applause from the mid 80's and just aquired this one. I really don't care what it is as I love the looks of the wood and the way it sounds, I am just a little anal in that I need to know if it is a one off or something. |

Location: South of most, North of few | Thats kind of what I thought, but when I contacted Ovation, they said that all the cp2001 were a cherry-cherry burst. Anyhow, thanks for all the replies. I am a true Ovation fan, have been since my X wife gave me the Applause. She's gone, but the guitar is still here, and sounds better that she ever did!!! |
