Joined: February 2002 Posts: 5750 Location: Scotland | That's a Charango. South American, from Peru and Bolivia. Traditionally made from Armadillo shells but now usually made from wood. The Armadillo is getting close to being endangered in some parts of South America, mostly due to Peruvians scooping their guts out and making charangos, so it's now only legal to make charangos out of roadkill. A friend of mine in Austin has a guitar made from a huge armadillo shell, sounds pretty damn good. | ||
