I recently took delivery of Gretsch G6120SSU (Nashville Hollowbody with Brian Setzer improvements). The bridge pickup didn't work and could not be fixed; it is a TV Jones classic Both Gretsch and TV Jones when approached were very quick to offer to remedy the situation. So I think good news about Guitar companies in this ruthless GC MF world should be spread about.

Sweet sound, very rockabilly, but the box is huge, and a lot of vibrato use seems to take it out of tune more quickly than the Strats and Jags. Someday, I intend to pick up a newer version of the same guitar in the Junior version, but there are at least nine guitars ahead of it on my GAS relief list.

Now isn't that synchronicitous; a bloke over at Gretsch Pages said exactly the same thing about ovations when I was extolling the customer support I got; small world!!!! LOL

Apart from that in the week I had my hands on it I couldn't detect any problems. I was very impressed with the build quality and finish. The tech informs me that the electric harness and pots are of a very high standard. In fact just on the neck pup it was gorgeous So the count goes back to 3. Then I am advised, from all the incidental discussion of it at GDP there is pre FMIC who have apparently improved quality remarkably. I guess it would be usefull to know when these 3 were made. But hey, who needs a competition b/w guitar manufactures. I see that there are so many great guitars around. We live in great times for buying these things is my impression as a relative newbie to playing.
