Mark,
I'm glad it got there. Let me know that it got there in perfect shape once you get home and get the box opened. I'm sure your wife would have mentioned it if the box looked "compromised". Oh yea, looks like you need to update your signature line list... What a nice collection.

For someone that whines everytime he wants a guitar, Mark's collection is starting to get quite impressive.

Now that he has the Ute, the major ADAMAS GAS should begin to kick in shortly! :D

They teach whining in lawschool. Most of my "whining" is actually my best sarcasm. I know how fortunate I am. It has also been a very successful method of letting people know what I'm looking for. The 1537, 87 and now the Ute all came from members who thankfully decided to try to shut me up. If I lived somewhere close to any of you guys, I'd probably just be over at your house drooling over your guitars instead.
Thanks again, Ron. You are not correct that my wife would tell me if the box arrived damaged. This is the first time she let me know right away that one arrived. I called her one time (I've bought so many guitars now that I can't remember which one) and told her I was concerned that the guitar hadn't arrived and she said it had arrived hours before. She just didn't think it was important. Now she's got me thinking about selling the Boxster and buying a friend's 96 911. I wish you all had my problems.

No way, Jeff. This one is a keeper, just like most of my others. It arrived in perfect shape. I barely had time to tune it, play a few songs and put it back in the case. I'm taking it up to the cabin. It is incredibly light, but really projects. Thanks again, Ron.
I may not have the ears that others have, but this has a distinct sound, not necessarily better or worse than the 1537, 87 or even the Folklore. Someday, I'll have someone else play all of them for me so that I can see if I can tell a big difference. For now, it is beautiful and sounds beautiful. I'll post some pics in about a week.

The original reason for "Uterus" was that when the first half dozen arrived with members here the drooling, love and general gibbering mindlessly while they struggled to find the words to describe how utterly fantastic the ute is made me think it would only be a matter of time before somebody unscrewed the inspection hatch and tried to crawl inside screaming "I'm comin'home mama". I may have mentioned this in a pm to a well-known hooligan on the board. It's not his fault. Although a lot of things are.

So where's the report/pictures? I'm sending Jeff's home next week - I've had it about 9 months and I don't think I've even begun to scratch the surface of what the guitar is capable of. It's way too good for me. Way too good. I played #47 and a #47RI at the Tour - I'd take the ute any day. (Sorry Dave).

Thanks, Schroeder. Now I won't keep worrying about whether I should have tried for the 47RI instead. As far as report or pictures, I left Friday for a couple of trips into parts beyond and just got back this morning. I haven't played the guitar since Sunday.
Most or all of my guitars are too good for me. I think I may have finally reached the point where I need to quit lusting after another O and learn to play the ones I have. Besides, my signature line is getting too long. I notice that several of our members with notable collections are too modest to list all of theirs in the signature. Mine is getting a bit pretentious.

It's true, honest. I think it's the best guitar I ever played - it makes a noise like I figure heaven would sound if I stood a chance of getting there. Me and my Country Artist and my Custom Legend are pretty well matched - they feel like they understand me and I feel like they want to play what I'm trying to play. I always feel like the ute is laughing at me. I can't help this whole Zen thing. It's the way I am. Sorry. Maybe jeff put a hex on it so if you don't play like Richard Thompson it sulks.
I'm figuring yours loves the way you sing and works just fine. Wish I could make it to the party.

Actually old sport, the voice is making regular appearances these days. Granted I never know what's gonna come out when I open my mouth, but that's why I fit right in here.

From what I have heard, Ute and 47RI are two totally different sounding animals.

I sometimes think my 1581 RI blows away the Ute but sometimes the Ute seems to win, hands down. Depends on the song and my mood.

Mark, you need both (or all 3) :D

Schrod, not everyone has your cold logic and clear headed thinking.

Go have a few good lagers and rethink what you are saying.

Just use the model numbers and stretch them out horizontally.

I started listing them with the year so that I could remember what I had. I switched to horizontal awhile ago. I'll have to do more editing soon.

By the way, Schroed, Jeff moved. Being the stand up guy I am, I'll shoot you his new address for that Ute.

Easy there Weas,

Notice Jeff hasn't popped in to correct you.

He didn't move. He came out to California to visit, or for a job or something and wants Schrod to deliver it to him here.... personally :D :p :D :p

OK, I posted a couple of pics in the gallery under U681t. I also have a couple with the Folklore. Interesting comparison.
