A few of us (myself, Paul, Bruce, Fred, and maybe Rudy) are getting together this Sunday in Oceanside for lunch and maybe a little parking lot show and tell.

It will be at the Jolly Rogers at 1pm...I offered to buy :D

Let me know if you can attend...I'll send directions.

Don't worry, we have plans for a real get-together...couple of months? You will definitely be invited.

Stephen, We'll do it again. When can you make it?

We were originally just going to get together to shuffle guitars around to different households.

We'll do it right in a couple of months - ?? September or early October.

Maybe we can get our special guest out again...

Orange County or maybe Encinitas...somewhere we can bring the rest of our families - Encinitas Inn and Suites at Moonlight Bay, easy access to the beach.

Tony, Bruce...as a self employed bum I can usually make arrangements whenever an event really really grabs my attention. Thw wife being able to drift out to the beach (weather permitting) would be a definite plus!!

Plus a chance to hang out with Bob Dylan ;) would be awesome!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful

Great time with Paul, Michael, Bruce, and Fred.

I'm sure the restaurant wondered what we were doing bringing in ? at least six guitars, leaving a couple in the vehicles.

Nice location, in the harbor, great view of the sailboats.

Was fun to compare the 47RI with Michael's original.

Let's see, six guitars in the Mustang...full load.

maybe he could post his thoughts.

they are different, by very small differences. both wonderful guitars.

for me, hard to tell - from what I understand, each of the originals are slightly different.

Personally I like them both. They are "cut from they same cake" but like pieces of cake, two children will fight over "how the other one's piece is bigger, has more frosting, etc", even though they both wonderfully delicious peices of cake. All I can say is Yup, there both slotheads. If one were a wide-neck, then I'm sure that one would sound better to me. :D :p :D :p

"like snowflakes"...I like that.

I drove to the get-together with one guitar (47RI)...came back with my two 1687's that had been on short-term loan.

In addition, three guitars that Bruce generously loaned me...1987 Collectors with bearclaw spruce, "Book" Viper, and the black Viper 12-string :D :D :D

Six guitars in a Mustang...must be a record.

Course, don't know how much work I'll get done this week :p

With the top down...one in passenger seat, three in back seat strapped down with the seat belts, and in the trunk - deep bowl and Viper 12-string.

Expensive cargo: 47RI, 1687RI, 1978 1687, 1987 Collectors w/bearclaw, "Book" Viper, and Viper 12-string.

Fortunately, took golf clubs out before I went up.
