Location: Scotland | Do a search in the archives and current threads using the terms Matrix, Medallion, Ultra and Special Balladeer. You could also searching on Urelite or Foam Neck. These guitars have been discussed a lot and there's a ton of information here.
The short answer is if you can find one in decent shape and it's very cheap it's probably worth a go. If not leave well alone. |

Location: Boise, Idaho | As long as the frets are in good shape, you did fine. The theory was that the neck would be replaced for the cost of a refret job, but the idea never caught on and the necks aren't available. Mine is still in almost new shape because it was played very little, but they are a good working guitar. |
