My wife and I saw Heart in concert in the Detroit area last night....they are in fine form as always. Just wanted to note....Nancy played her Telecaster and Epiphone Les Paul Ultra electrics(the Epi for the Led Zep songs), plus her trusty Takamine 6-string AND A TAKAMINE 12-STRING. So....guess the Ovation 12-strings don't make the cut for stage play anymore. And her Martin signature model was M.I.A.

Ann played her Rainsong on one song only, "These Dreams".

If I was KMC marketing or artist relations, I'd be wondering why Nancy plays Takamine guitars onstage, but then endorses Martin (there wasn't one to be seen!!!!). Okay....marketing....CLICK!

A VERY hot night last night....88 degrees at show start. Note to Brad.....Heart has now included a Who song in their set list....."Love Reign O'er Me".....

I'm seeing them in September so I'm glad to hear they're in good form. Haven't seen them play since 1978! I've seen Nancy in her Epiphone ads and I believe I've seen her do a Takamine ad. Ovation had since the late 1970's to lock her in as an endorsee, as well as making signature models for her. Since they don't want to play that (for reasons that to me remain a mystery), they lose on artists playing them on stage, as well as artist endorsements and the prestige that goes with that. On you tube there is a great video from about 1978-1980? with Nancy and her Ovation playing Crazy on You. She looks good with the Ovation. Old Applause, do you know what kind of Tak 12 string?

Englishplayer, I had to look at Tak's website, I'm not familiar with their models. I'd have to guess it was a EAN40C12. It had gold tuners, it wasn't a lower-end guitar.

Nancy stated in an interview in Acoustic Guitar magazine several years ago that she was hungering for a more "woody" sound, that was why she changed to Takamine. So Ovation would probably have trouble even getting her interested in an endorsement now. She does still use a couple in her scoring work, though (see her home studio pictures on Heart's website).

The Epiphone Les Paul Ultra she played was exactly as shown in her endorsement ads. A great guitar....I've played a couple. Light, slim neck, and a unique sound for a LP(chambered body).
