Location: Upper Left USA | I picked up a Schaller stick-on Piezo pick up on Fleabay and installed it on the Folklore I rescued from there as well. I was a little hesitant since I had heard some of the quality issues around the non-Ovation piezos. For $30 it turned out fairly nice. I stuck the pickup under the Bridge placement and it sounds pretty good on a Fender acoustasonic Jr.
The real test would be on stage next to your favorite Bass Player!
I was expecting more feedback issues but there were none and it sounds much better than my 30 year Bill Lawrence Sound hole pickup.
Anyone else try these? |

Location: Scotland | I sell those. They do a double version as well. For what they are they work OK, but benefit from a preamp for impedance matching. Generally as the soundboard gets bigger this type of pickup becomes less effective, but they can sound good at moderate volume if you get them in the right place. Right below the bridge will produce the best signal in terms of output though not neccesarily in terms of tone. Best bet is to have someone play the guitar while you move the pickup around on the outside of the guitar. When you find the place that sounds best get it as close to that point on the inside. |

Location: Upper Left USA | Since the only risk involved was a 5/8" hole in the body I think they area good deal. The A Jr. has enough control on it to limit feedback and set tone.
I may do my Balladeer next. |
