Location: Midland, MI | Flipped on the teevee (haven't done that in a while!) and switched around to find Heart performing on VH1 'Decades.'
It appears to be a program where they bring together an 'influential, classic' band with newer artists who were, well, influenced by said classic band. Tonight they had on Heart.
She can sing. Why can't anyone sing like that any more? Effin Eh, she can sing! They had some chick from American Idol :rolleyes: on to sing "Magic Man" with them. The AI chick sang two lines and quit. I think Ann Wilson took her down a couple pegs.
But, the meat of the show was the guitar playing, as always. Nancy freaking rips it up. Even if she plays a silly Take-mine. Their guitarist (Craig Bartok?) was a study in tasteful playing. Then they had the young punks on.
Somebody needs to take Dave Navarro out back and kick his a$$. And then beat him with a blackjack or something. He just kept hopping around the stage, up on the drum riser, out in front of Ann...which wouldn't have been bad, but he never took a lead. The man played chords and he was out front like he was ripping it up. Even when Nancy or Bartok were soloing.
It seriously detracted from the show. And I'm not even a big Heart fan (I know, blasphemy here!). Still...that voice! Highly recommended watching.

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | All ya gotta do is page through Guitar Player, Guitar One or Guitar World on any given month, see the ads with Navarro in them, and that tells you all you need to know about him.....as the ad with Andre Agassi used to say...."image is everything".....

Location: Waxahachie, Tx | The producers have alot of say in how the music is presented to the Public and what is being aired. The Muscians probably think alot like your way of thought. But are just doing what they are told. |
