Anyone have an opinion concerning whether these are worthwhile?

Busy weekend so don't want to waste my time...

Spending an afternoon in Del Mar never seems like a waste of time to me. Drop the top, and cruise from Mission Bay though MB, PB, La Jolla and on up. Lots of nice spots to stop and enjoy the South Coast, and a vintage guitar show at your destination to boot. Make a stop at Anthony's in LJ for a quick bite on the way home and voila ... perfect day.

Kaki is playing Sunday 1:30pm-2:15pm.

I'll be in the area anyway, programs in Encinitas & Carlsbad.

Looks like Bruce and I may meet up. Where's Fred?

I used to live in SD. Been to the Del Mar show many times. I haven't been in about 4 years, but it was always one of the better shows. There are a lot of very small dealers between SD & LA, not to mention the ever present big ones. But there was always a lot of variety, and deals to be had (-especially in the parking lot). Plus, as others have pointed out, a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. What has killed a lot of these shows is the greedy promoters keep raising the booth prices to the point where you have to sell half your inventory just to pay for the booth. I'm not sure about the current situation concerning that at Del Mar. But, if I didn't live 2500 miles away, I'd sure be there!
