Hey folks! My Ovation Celebrity plays like a champ, but when electrofied the 1st string and 6th string produce almost no sound. The other four middle string are loud and clear. Same goes for the tuner. No response on the E strings. Any idears?

Thanks!

It's the CC057 with the piezo pickup with the six little piezo pieces embedded in a thin plastic strip, under the saddle. The pre-amp is the OP20. I picked it up used, my first Ovation, and I've LOVED it. Just this one little problem.

Check to see if the white plastic thingy under the pickup and the shims are sitting squarely under the pickup. If it's off center, one end might not pick up, but I don't know why it would cut out on both sides.

If it's a new guitar...have them send you a new pickup....if not...I would order a new one....I do agree with mark...check the shims...voids under the pickup can cause dead spots!
