Hey all. I'm still tweaking the fixed up Deacon (pictures soon, I promise--busy times at work). Does anyone have any reference images or advice on the correct setup for this guitar? I'm specifically interested in the right baseline pickup height and bridge adjustments. I'm pretty happy with the sound right now, but the action is actually a little too low (getting the odd bit of buzzing from the lower end of the strings. Also, I'm not certain of where the sweet spot distance for the pickups is and I'd like to start there and tweak their mounts from that point.

Bridge height: fret the 20-23 frets and set the bridge to where you don't have any fret buzz.

Then set the neck relief. Capo the 13th and first frets and ensure that there is a skosh between the 7th fret and the string. For more accuate terms there is an Owners Manual at www.ovationtribute.com as well as the doremi-Breadwinner's site. I think Brudev has one in his Gallery. I think it's the same dimension as a D string (good use for string ends as a feeler gage).

If you are using a new nut it may call for some adjustment.

Intonation should be last.

Thanks, MWoody, the manual on ovationtribute.com had what I needed. Do you happen to know the size of the truss rod adjustment wrench?
