Can any of you guys play a killer rasgueado? I've been interested in certain techniques of flamenco guitar, and this is one of them. I can perform a decent single one, but I want to get that continuous rolling sound that the flamenco players can get.
Any tips? Anyone want to post a sound clip so I can see how well I am doing?

When that guy plays those rolling chords continuously with all his fingers... that's a rasgueado.

Unless you guys were joking, then lol.

I too wish I could do a nice rasgueado, Nonis. When I play a tune by Paco De Lucia & co. I end up substituting a pick-player's best (aggressive strum) which is not very good. A strong rasgueado would come in very handy on tunes like Mediterranean Sundance, Guardian Angel, Spain etc. It's super cool when the rasgueado is rolling and the thumb plays a counter melody!

'twas one of of the first things a this huge flamenco player named Socrates(I'm not kidding he's like 6'6") taught me the beginnings of. I've never perfected it, but it's pretty simple:

T 1 2 3 3 2 1(finger pattern). Then repeat... Quickly... QUICKER!!! Over and over and over...

:D :p :D :p
