Its a contour bowl koa as well, and I was stunned at the response. I have a mid depth Adamas, and the Koa completely blows it away on the bottom end. The Adamas is more 'shimmery', but I don't need that sound so much because I already have a Taylor. I don't know if that makes any sense or not. Bottom line is I am really looking forward to the special from Al. It its half what I want it to be, it will make a real nice one-two punch with my Taylor.

I cannot say how much of the sound differences were due to the bowl, and how much the model appointments, but there was a difference. Go back and find my comparison on the three. May or may not help you and it is certainly subjective.

Tough to do. For me Contour Bowl has the right cavity size for good sound and the right shape for comfort, so that pretty much seals the deal.Is there any noticeable difference in tone with the new contour bowl? Like Tup sez, a comparison would have to be identical guitars other than the bowl.I don't know if it's a fair comparison but my little over a year old 2005 collector sounds significantly better than my 30 year old 1112.
