Can anybody recommend a shop in Nashville or Hendersonville that does good fret work at a reasonable price --and fairly quickly too, hopefully less than a week turnaround time. Thanks in advance...

For a "weekend warrior" musician, I'm not sure if Nashville is quite as "happening" as you would think. Thanks again!

Many years ago I had a Precision bass with worn frets, I thought it needed new frets but a guy in South Carolina was able to dress them and it came out great, I think it cost $50 or maybe $75. But the wear on these frets on the 1868 look a good bit deeper than on the old P-bass. I have noticed recently that the capo doesn't always give a clean sound on the first string on the first couple of frets, maybe it's cause that's where there's some serious wear.

The guy there said the frets would dress out without replacing them, and that's included as part of his $79 setup. So while the guitar is there...I'm gonna splurge and have a bone nut installed. Call me crazy, but I put a bone nut on a Yamaha acoustic years ago and I thought it added more "something" (to my tin ears at least). For anybody interested in seeing what setup and repair prices go for, check out the website www.classicax.com
