Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | This thread made me get off the dime and do something. I purchased a hygrometer last evening at GC at started monitoring. It was 39% in the kitchen when I initially set it. I then placed it at one end of the basement studio and let it set overnight. It read 59% at 63 degrees this morning. If I pile up all the guitars on the stairs halfway between the basement and the kitchen, I should be right in the middle of the sweet zone. 59% is right at the upper end of acceptability according to the directions. If it stays there, I may need to find a humidifier. Any suggestions? |

Location: NJ | If it STAYS there, you'll need a DEhumidifier.
I wouldn't worry about it too too much, unless y'got a bunch of those damned temperamental BOX guitars about . . . |

Location: Colorado Rocky Mountains | Right, Cliff, a dehumidifier. On the other hand, not far from the studio door is my furnace, so I could simply open the door and let the furnace dry it out a bit, at least during the winter months. |
