Location: Oklahoma | My wonderful wife just gave me a solid body electric Ovation Viper III. It appears to be all original and is VG to Mint condition. I think the finish is called "Nutmeg" and is a rich dark brown transparent finish on an ash body. The 3 pu's really crank. Anyway, my questions for all the experts are these: 1. where can I find the exact date or at least year of manufacture from the serial number (the Ovation website only gives a range from '75 to '80; 2. Anyone have some interesting history on this model of guitar??? Thanks for responding !!!!! |

Location: Oklahoma | What is "the book" and where do I get one? Thanks all! Is the info on this site that Viper III were only made in '79 and '80 accurate? I think mine is the early bridge type since it has the molded black part. So maybe that puts it in '79??? |
