This infection feels like you are having an appendicitis. Whenever I mention Diverticulitis it seems that everybody in the world has either had it or knows someone who has , very strange.Have any of you had it? So here is what I am asking of you OFCers who do drink ? For the next ten days ? WILL YOU HAVE ONE FOR ME ? GWB

It was not a pleasant experience, especially with the pain associated with it. Despite the perforation, I am thankful that I managed to avoid surgery. After my release, I still continue to live a life as close to normal as I always have been, but with adjustments and accommodations in the process. Among them: a few simple exercises, prescription medication, and a high fiber diet. I truly understand what you're going through, and I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

He was driving home from work and sitting in traffic on the Williamsburg Bridge when he felt a sharp pain in his lower abdomen. A few minutes later, he had an uncontrollable contraction, and thought that he had shit himself. He looked down and saw that he was sitting in a growing puddle of his own blood. He grabbed his phone, called 911, and passed out. Thankfully, there were a couple cops on the bridge for the accident causing the traffic, and emergency services were able to get him to the hospital in time. It was extremely likely that he could've bled to death in his own car. The subsequent surgery required a part of his large intestine and half his colon be removed. Thankfully (after recovery), he's healthy and didn't require a colostomy. However, . . . Upon his return to work after 9 months of recovery, he found that someone (can't imagine WHO) had "revised" the name plaque on his office door by adding a semi-colon between his first and last name . . . (It's a "ToughCrowd" here.) FeelBetter.

Granted, most of his trouble was self-inflicted...work 80 hours a week, smoke, drink excessively, poor diet, etc. He also ended up dealing with pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, and other things I can't even remember now. Sadly, he died of a heart attack at 39 years old, which as far as he knew was his only healthy spot. That's been several years ago now, but still very sad.

I refused to go (just a little gas...right!) Well, except for the part where it feels like they hooked a tow truck up to your guts and drove off. Anyway, my obnoxious "doctor" son-in-law persuaded me to go. Antibiotics took care of it after a week, but the pain persisted for nearly a month. I did discover during that bout that I have some blood sugar issues, so in a way it has been a huge blessing. I lost weight and changed my diet, I exercise 5 times a week, and feel better than I did 10 years ago. So far no relapse, but there are times I wonder. Not a fun thing...a big TWO THUMBS DOWN. I will hoist a diet Shasta for you.

Another I recommend happened when an aquaintance came back from medical exams to see if his cancer was still in remission. News of the test results got back to the office before he did. When he got back to work there was a monogramed cap on his toolbox. It read B9 ............................ JC83, what's yuengling? ............................ Don't know anything about your situation GWB, but will toast your recovery this weekend. Heal fast.

The doctor suggested I take two Metamucil capsules each day to keep everything moving in the right direction. BTW, I don't remember a thing after they administered the "sleepy juice". I'll gladly have another colonoscopy when the time comes.
