Location: Minnesota | I thought this was an interesting observation. I just received my new Custom Elite LX the other night. We live in a 4-level home and I was in the living room upstairs playing while my wife was down in the kitchen listening.
I was raving about the tone of the guitar and kept asking what my wife thought. She said it sounded good but that it didn't sound that much different to her than my Guild dreadnaught.
Then today, she came into the living room where I was playing and the expression COMPLETELY changed on her face and she remarked how wonderful the guitar sounded and what a difference it made being in front of the guitar versus behind it.
I explained to her how the bowl worked on the Ovations; projecting the sound to the top. She said it was a very noticeable difference. Just thought this was an interesting observation from untrained ears. |

Location: Oregon | I play downstairs. Unplugged in my room. My sister came down and yelled at me yo turn off my amp- even though it wasn't on. Those acoustic vibrations it creates on the top are great. I think, I'm not really sure why the heck she can hear it.
That's a good story though. Reminds me of the reaction my parents gave when they first heard an Ovation. |
