I'm really new to this forum, jumped straight in with some questions. I do pick guitar as a hobby (my wife says obsession). I live in Norway and I'm curious to know if there are any other Norwegians on this forum, or anyone with any scandinavian relations. I really like what I've seen so far, and feel at home here!

Maybe not Norway, but you have some neighbors! Please add yourself to our Worldwide OFC Map.

There is some great food/cooking in Norway. And they are all tall. And they take jazz seriously. You'll never visit anywhere more beautiful - unless you have a desperate need for palm trees.

Norway? Jazz? Let's not forget Jan Garbarek. Long before he "took up the runes" he was a beyond-Art-Pepper free-jazzer. Check out his CD "Tryptikon" and of course the classic work with Jarrett. A personal favorite is "All Those Born With Wings". His "Runes" CD was No#1 in the charts when it came out. Dig it!

That's actually from Sweden, but that's ok with me we are a Nordic family of small countries both Denmark, Sweden and Norway. As for the food discussion, I'm a farmer with both sheep and dairy cattle, so I recommend Norwegian lamb an Jarlsberg cheese!

Hi HobbyPicker.
Could you clarify something for me? Aren't Denmark and Iceland also considered as part of Scandinavia? I always thought that they were.

Yeah, you're right, but I referred to the countries that's been covered in this thread!

Wow, that's bangin'! A beautiful tone, interesting heads and very tasteful improvising. Thanks for that link HobbyPicker.

Seems as if the Norwegians have discovered music, probably imported from Copenhagen :D Kidding aside politically, Scandinavia is comprised of Danmark-Sweden-Norway,historically ,all countries where NORSE was spoken were part of it ( incl. Finland and Iceland) but.. french fries are best in Belgium, typical Norwegian dish would be meatballs, potatoes, cauliflower with a white sauce.. ( Kjøtkake blomkål og vite sovs )and how I know all this ?..I have a 26 year old daughter ( Norwegian mother ) and I have lived in Oslo for a number of years,ha`det så lange.. ;)
