Location: RI. That small State out East | The "Brown truck" delivered a beautiful 1537 Elite 1983 vintage. The feel... It could be the most comfortable of the family. The sound is sweet. I can't wait for a new set of strings. Some wear on the outer rim... He must have played near a table all the time. That all said, I feel lucky to own another "special" Ovation.
I do think the family is now complete. I hope to take some pics this week and post them for the club. If you want to look at the new arrival ebay
2533330159. This is just what the Doctor ordered.
Was the 83' Elite made with AAA top? Any info on the 1537 could go in the baby book.
Smiling so much it hurts.

Congrats on the new guitar. I've got a 1537 and it is my "forever" guitar. If you've got a fax number (email it to me at moody.pi@cox.net), I'll copy and fax some info from a catalog at that time regarding the 1537.
The catalog says that the spruce top is AAA and is "Hand Picked". In other words, it's the best they had. Note that your guitar has a layered heel cap and headstock face, and that the body binding is 5 pieces of wood.
Lastly, so you can get an idea of where your guitar was in production, the Elite line seriel number started at 301000. My guitar was about number 1400. |

Location: Phoenix AZ | Woz, Congrats, but please do NOT bring this guitar to any future OFC tour. That Adamas 12 of yours that I played already cost me dearly. I had to have one and finally got a black finish one last week. Glad I never played your Millenium. You're killing me. Dave |

I can't believe the price on that guitar. How could anyone sell such a beauty so cheap? Still amazes me!
It's a good thing Norceman1 isn't here this week. He really get's bad GAS when he hears us talking about sitting here, playing our 1537's.
BTW - mine is 301347. I guess that make's it #347. I hope they used the best woods first!
Enjoy your 1537

Congrats on your guitar, we want to race the truck.
